I’m very pleased with my experience here. I greatly appreciate the expertise and kindness of Dr. Sorenson and staff. Going to the doctor is always stressful for me. Dr. Sorenson’s approach is very calming. He patiently answers my questions and he and his staff make the experience as pleasant as possible. The atmosphere at the office is welcoming.
I have been seeing Dr. Engelbert for several years. He is smart, compassionate, and skilled. He has maintained the quality of my vision, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have been referred to him for my care.I recommend him without reservation.
Excellent, Dr. Michael J. Cooney is fantastic and very thorough. I appreciated Eileen walking me through each step of the process and explaining everything to me. Service was phenomenal but truly a knowledgeable team.
The office staff were all very warm and Dr. Hogue was excellent - thorough, efficient, and kind. I called with a question just after the office closed, and he called me back to discuss my concern and tell me what to do even though he’d left the office for the day. Would absolutely recommend!
When I first walked in I went ‘wow’ lots of clients here! However the process was so streamlined and the staff were all amazing in making sure I felt comfortable with my annual checkup. Dr. James Klancnik is a great doctor who really listens to you too. I give a five star rating to VRMNY!

Valeda Light Therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular activity in the retina. This helps preserve vision and slow the progression of retinal diseases such as dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD). The treatment is non-invasive, painless, and performed quickly in-office — no injections or surgery required.
The FDA has authorized Valeda for individuals with early to intermediate dry AMD, typically those with vision between 20/30 and 20/100. It is not approved for wet AMD, which requires eye injections. Clinical studies are ongoing to explore its effectiveness in other forms of AMD.
People with geographic atrophy, an advanced form of dry AMD, may still experience some benefit if their central vision is not completely damaged. However, Valeda Light Therapy cannot reverse existing vision loss — it primarily aims to preserve and protect remaining vision.
